For the last couple of weeks, I’ve been shopping online, from private owners, from big dealers, and little dealers.
It’s quite the experience.

I am still in the market for  a car.

A couple of months ago I created a short montage of the photos I took of my brother and his wife as they journeyed though the experience of pregnancy.

I would definitely love to put together more of these projects.  The photo-taking process was fun, the editing was fun, and the results are satisfying.  Enjoy!

here’s a recap:
celebrated R’s bday, got engaged, made stuff for a trunk show, had a successful trunk show, made gingerbread houses, watched santa give kids gifts, made dolls and cars for four days, created one of a kind movie for my brother and sister-in-law, kind of sold my car in pasadena, got new car, had wonderful christmas watching my nephew enjoy his first, smogged old car in pasadena, drove old car back home to fix failed smog issues, drove back to pasadena in old car, watched seller back out of sale, drove new car and had someone else drive old car to the desert, helped at meditation center for a couple days, slept through the midnight hour on new years, tried to sell car in desert, sold car to 80-some year old “Irv” as a gift for his “lady-friend”, drove back home in new car, started new job, changed furniture around in home, and finally wrote a blog entry for the new year.

whew!  and now for some calming shots of my nephew, the cutest kid in the world.

happy new year, y’all, hope your year is filled with confidence and drive to do things you’ve always wanted to do.

A tip to those who are taking on the challenge of making one of these- hot glue guns are a lifesaver.

Now my apartment smells like coconut and sugar. mmm!

They were right.
Especially with a full moon rising over it at sunset time.

One of my favorite memories from this summer was the Epic Trip.

The Epic Trip started June 1st with a 10 day silent meditation retreat at North Fork, California.
My first of any kind of meditation retreat, I went through huge ups and downs, physical pain, and extreme mental endurance. In short, it was awesome.

After the retreat, when my vocal chords were used to making sounds again, I made the hour drive to Yosemite for a day of hiking amongst the amazing scenery. The waterfalls and rivers were gushing at maximum capacity, and snow capped the mountains in the distance.

After a night in Fresno (lovely place to keep going through), I headed east to King’s Canyon and Sequoia National Parks.

The weather was perfect- snow on the ground in the shaded spots, warm sun, and big, majestic trees. The view at Moro Rock at 6,725 above sea level was amazing, especially after climbing up 400 stairs to the top.

A night in Bakersfield (also lovely when passing through), and I headed south to the fourth National Park of the trip, Joshua Tree. Prehistoric rocks and spiky ancient trees spotted the landscape. The rocks were perfect for a bit of climbing to get a good vantage point for the desert sunset.

I headed home to San Diego the next morning, and so ended the Epic Trip.

It all came to an end with a bang (several actually) when I went to see Tchaikovsky’s 1812 Overture performed by the San Diego Symphony.
The setting was at the Embarcadero, downtown San Diego, at sunset.

Lovely.
